Strategic Plan
In March 2009, the PCC adopted the Church Plan for the next five years. This plan is entitled "Inside Out- Outside In"
The overall plan is to become a church that first goes out in worship (service) and secondly gathers back again together to worship (bow down) to praise God, be strengthened by his word and filled with his Spirit ... to go out again.
There are three core themes to this plan:
1. Going Deeper
At our Vision Day in November, 2008, we were challenged through the story of Peter's call (Luke 5) to 'go deeper' with God. This was a call to each of us individually as well as corporately as STK church. The words of Jesus resonated in the church as we heard, "Now go out where it is deeper and let down your nets to catch some fish". After this experience, Simon Peter simply left everything and followed Jesus ... and on him the church was built.
Going Deeper with God will mean taking a check on our lives, rethinking the call to 'seek first the Kingdom of God', and then deciding to obey or just go back to our nets.
2. The Hub
The image of the church as the hub of the community (central not peripheral) began to emerge early in 2008. The aim in this plan is to put STK in the middle of things to enable us better to love, serve, bless and encourage the parish to look first to God who is in the middle of everything.
3. The Sharehouse
The idea of the church (the people more than the building) acting a bit like a warehouse was given in February 2009. The meaning is quite simple. We all have stuff to bring to share (hence the name 'Sharehouse') and we need to be people who bring all we have to see it used and taken out to serve one another and others.
This five year plan begins, middles and ends with two key questions which we will constantly be challenged by as disciples together as STK church:
What will you do? How will you serve?
